What is Conservatism?

Conservatism includes the following; however, one doesn’t have to agree with all of them to be a Conservative. Conservatism is a coalition.

  • Individual Liberty, Free Will
  • Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Religious Freedom, Right to Assemble, Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms
  • Limited Government, Small Government, Federalism, Restraint on Government Power
  • Rule of Law, Constitution, Preserve Life, Liberty, and Property
  • Strong National Defense
  • Economic Freedom, Free Trade, Free Market Economy, Capitalism, Supply and Demand
  • Belief in God, Tradition and Order, Small and Slow Change, Morality of the People

If you believe in Freedom and Liberty, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe in Economic Freedom and Capitalism, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe in Limited Government and Federalism, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe in God and/or Shared Moral Standards, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe in a Strong National Defense, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe that Tradition and Order are important, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe that Change should be slow and incremental, you might be a Conservative.
If you believe in the Law, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, you might be a Conservative.
If you read all the way through, you most likely are a Conservative.
